"A Five-Star School" for grades Kindergarten - Eighth

"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire." (Yeats)

Established in 1955, Our Lady of Mercy School is a Catholic, coeducational parish elementary school. We are a community of faith that provides for the growth of the whole child, nourishing each child’s spiritual, intellectual, social, psychological, and physical growth.

OLM offers two sections of each grade from kindergarten through grade eight, for a total of over 500 students. Our highly qualified teachers set high expectations for academic excellence and incorporate the latest educational approaches into the curriculum.

In addition to traditional subjects, OLM offers art, music, physical education, and library skills as part of the regular curriculum. Students may choose chorus, band, drama, and after-school league sports as electives.

Our Kindergarten program is full day and offers all the programs available to students in Grades 1 through 8. We have a full-time credentialed special education teacher on staff for students who need additional assistance or have special needs, and a full-time counselor to assist students and families. Our Extended Care Program “The Clubhouse” is open from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Homework Club is available for students in grades 5 through 8.

Our facilities include well-maintained buildings and classrooms, a 7,000 volume computer-automated library, a state-of-the-art Apple computer lab, 3 portable laptop carts, a multi-purpose hall, a large, fenced schoolyard with fulltime security, and an extended care facility.  In 2009 the school completed its rewiring project and purchased two servers to establish the school's first network.  The entire campus, including our church hall, is wirelessly connected.

In September, 2004, OLM received the "Best of the Best" of Private Schools award by San Francisco and Peninsula readers of Bay Area Parent Magazine.
