Welcome to First Grade A! I hope that you and your families had a wonderful
summer break. My name is Margarita De Jesus and I will be teaching the students
in First Grade A. I taught at St. Timothy School for the past 3 years and
transferred to Our Lady Mercy for the 2008-2009 school year. I look forward to
meeting you and your child on the first day of school.
In First Grade the students will learn reading and language arts, science,
math, social studies and religion. Newsletters will be sent home to inform you
of our units of study; so that you can help reinforce concepts that your child
is learning. With our collaborative efforts and open communication, we will be
able to help our students reach their full potential and have a successful year!
Some reminders:
*Monday, Aug. 25th is the first day of school. School begins at 8AM and
dismissal is at 10AM. Please remember to label backpacks and sweaters. Also,
Emergency cards and Disaster forms will be sent home on this day. Please fill
out the form completely and return them the next day.
*The students' school supplies have been ordered and are in the classroom.
Please send $25 in your student's homework folder sometime during the first
week of school. Homework folder will be distributed on the first day of school.
