3A Highlights
Spring is upon us already! Time is flying right by! We are having a wonderful time together in 3A and learning so much!
It was great to see so many of you at Open House and I thank you for taking the time to come by and visit your child’s classroom. It means a lot to them! The students did an excellent job on their Saint reports and they were displayed for all to admire at the Curriculum Fair.
We have also been very busy in the classroom. The students have been working hard in math mastering their 0-5 times tables and division facts. We will be moving on to the bigger numbers in the next few weeks. We will be doing long division before year’s end!
We have also been plugging away in cursive writing. We have learned all the lowercase letters , and are on to the uppercase. The students get better and better everyday! Practice, practice, and more practice is key!
We just finished learning about endangered and extinct animals in Science. The students read about how fossils help us to learn about our ancestors from long ago.
In Social Studies, we just finished studying about different Native American tribes and their affect on our lives today. We have also been discussing the upcoming presidential elections and the students cast their votes in class!
The Lenten season is a time for personal reflection and preparation for the resurrection of Jesus. We have talked a lot about sacrifice in the classroom, and the students each made a Lenten promise. We have also been studying the Stations of the Cross to see how Jesus suffered for us.
There is still much to look forward to in the last few months of school. We will be going on our second field trip in April to the San Jose Tech Museum! We are looking forward to the upcoming Speech Recitation Program where students from each class will share a speech or poem they have memorized. In the classroom we will continue to build our classroom community and work hard as the students prepare to be 4th graders!!!
