In Religion, the 8th Graders are in the midst of "Monk Days," in which we live the life of the monk (to the best of our abilities): during our classes, we follow a schedule of prayer and work. Our work consists of focusing on our silence.  We are also in the process of studying and copying Scripture.

We've been discussing where we find God in our everyday lives.  During one of our class projects we picked up trash from the yard and looked for God.  (Hands were cleaned of course.)  We used what we collected as a metaphor to put God's love in its proper place, in our hearts.  Through our little community service project we practiced how God and his love is not always in the cleanest or prettiest things.

For Confirmation, we had our retreat a couple Sundays ago, and we've also been having "mini interviews" to check on our readiness to receive the sacrament. April 4, Friday, at 7:00 P.M. there will be a rehearsal for Confirmation in church -- candidates and sponsors are required to attend. The following day, Saturday, will be our Confirmation Mass, at 10:30 A.M.

Looking ahead, we will be taking a closer look at the Mass -- a fresh, new look! Let's continue our journey to holiness!
