Dear 2A Families and Friends,

It is hard to believe 2nd quarter is here! We are so busy with upcoming events! Here are some things to look forward to this upcoming quarter.

Religion: We will continue learning about Reconciliation and learning our new prayer - The Act of contrition. Along with this we will work on Advent and Christmas activities. I know you will love these activities.

Math: We will be working on 2-digit addition and 2-digit subtraction this quarter. Remember to practice your math facts! This will help you when we are regrouping.

Reading and Language Arts: We are building on what we know. We are all reading up a storm in 2A. It is quite exciting. We will continue learning our reading skills and we will begin reading chapter books and doing book reports!

Science: We will be learning about Earth Science this quarter. We will be working on Rocks and Fossils in chapter 3 and Using our Resources in chapter 4.

Social Studies: We had a very successful Thanksgiving Play. Everyone did such a wonderful job. In January we will begin learning about Chinese New Year.

Dear 2A Parents,

It is hard to believe that we are in the 1st quarter of school. We will be learning many new and exciting new things!

Reading: We will be learning how to read for understanding. We will be practicing this a lot. Read every night to practice your fluency. This will help you too.

Math: We will be working hard on math facts. If you do not know your facts by heart, it is a good idea to practice them. I recommend flash cards and you can go on line with matheletics. Do not forget to use your passwords!

Religion: This is a big year! We will be making our First Reconciliation and our First Communion. I am so glad to be a part of this wonderful celebration.

Social Studies: We are working on Unit 1 – People and Places and we will most likely get into Unit 2 this quarter – Places Near and Far.

Science: We will begin with Unit A – Ch. 1 will be on Plant Life Cycles and Ch. 2 will be on Animal Life Cycles. Both Chapters are great fun and you will learn a lot!

Handwriting: It is always good to remember to be neat and remember to follow the rules of handwriting. Keep your letters and numbers nice and straight and properly form them within the line formations.
