It is hard to believe that we are now in the 2nd quarter of school! We have accomplished so much since the 1st day of school! I have enjoyed so much being your child’s teacher.
In November, we are busily getting ready for our next holiday – Thanksgiving. This month we are praying for our blessings and we are remembering our loved ones that have passed away. We also will be preparing for our Thanksgiving Play and Feast! We will be performing this on Wednesday, November 23rd at 8:30 am in the Church Hall. This is a performance that you will not want to miss.
Curriculum At A Glance for 2nd Quarter:
Math: We are learning how to count money and change! We will also be learning how to regroup in addition and subtraction.
Reading and Spelling: We will be working on our phonics skills for review along with reading orally and learning new comprehension strategies.
Social Studies: We are currently working on Geography skills and learning mapping skills. After this unit, we will learn about different cultures and celebrations.
Science: We will begin Unit 2 – Earth’s Resources. We will begin by learning about soils, rocs and fossils. After this we will then begin learning about our natural resources.
Religion: Currently we are currently finishing up Unit One and then will begin Unit Two, “We ask God’s Forgiveness”.
Handwriting: As always, we are always striving to do our best work and we are continually working on our printing skills. It is important that we practice this daily and work on forming our letters correctly.
