Our third graders have had an amazing first quarter.. It is always so inspiring to know that we are working together to help our students truly becomes STARS.

Some of the things we will be focusing on this quarter are

• Advent
• verbs – different uses and types of verbs as well as past and present tense
• how to form and write a good paragraph
• organisms from long ago
• solar systems
• subtraction of greater number
• multiplication concepts
• The Navajo, Yurok, Cherokee, and Haudenosaunee communities

Other things to look forward to this second quarter include

• field trip to Discovery Kingdom
• Works of Mercy Project- caroling

Welcome back. Thank you to all who attended Back to School night. We are so happy to have met our third grade families.

This quarter in math we will be learning all about place value. In social science we will be learning about communities and the importance of laws. In reading we will work on comprehension and fluency. We are going to be reading together as a class Ramona Quimby, Age 8. In science we will study adaptations to land and water, and in religion we deliver good news letters to the first graders just like ST. Paul. We will also continue to strive to become the STARS of OLM.
