4B - 2nd Quarter Update

Thanksgiving is on the way! I would like to first thank all of our 4B parents for making the Halloween parade/party a great success. I appreciate all of the hard work you put in to making the celebration the BEST!

I would also like to personally thank our room parents for a surprising and delightful birthday bash! I was greatly humbled by your generosity (and the handmade cards). Thank you one and all for making my day a special one! YOU ARE THE BEST!

We are ready to become journalists through our Movie Review Reports! We are going to spend some time reviewing the process of writing and researching information on the internet. Please remind your child that the report is to be in their own writing (all drafts will be turned in) and the homework is that they have to see a movie! If you have further questions on the project, please see me.

We are moving along in several subjects this quarter. We are nearing the end of Chapter 4 in math, studying explorers and missions in social studies, covering energy in ecosystems in science, the 10 commandments and beatitudes in religion, as well as enjoying our chapter books in literature circles. Our weekly quizzes (5 points) will continue on Thursdays for SS, SCI, with our Reading and Religion quizzes coming soon. Please encourage your child to review for these quizzes.

Parents: THANK YOU FOR BEING THE BEST! The items for the Auction look fantastic. Be proud of your hard work in making this school the BEST!

4B - 1st Quarter Update

OCTOBER 4B NEWSLETTER (click here for the Spooky Version in PDF)

It is a SPOOKY in the 4B classroom! We just completed the Iowa Test of Basic Skills last week and are looking forward to getting back to work! As we prepare for a new month, we are also preparing for some special events! Below is a list of upcoming events in 4B as well as important test dates.

We are preparing for Parent-Teacher Conferences this week. I have sent via email your appointment confirmations. If you did not receive your confirmation, please contact me as soon as possible. As for the upcoming tests, I would like to state that it is unusual to have two tests (math and English) in one week. However, due to scheduling it could not be avoided. Please also be aware that we are going to have major assessments in Reading, Religion, Social Studies, and Science coming soon. In studying, remember that there are other resources to get information than just your textbooks! A trip to the library can help your student gain information that the textbook alone can’t provide.

We are also practicing and using our prayers of the Rosary for this month. October is the month of the Rosary, so I encourage you to pray the Rosary with your children. As some point this month, I would like your child to bring in their Rosaries so they may pray this special prayer in class with their classmates.

Finally, your child’s progress reports will be given at your parent conference. Please sign and return these as soon as possible. If you have any questions regarding these reports, you can reach me either through the school office (650-756-3395) or using my email address.

Thank you for your support!!
