2nd Quarter Update

Wow! Time flies when you are having fun! It is hard to believe that we are already one quarter through the school year. It was such a pleasure meeting all of the parents who came to conferences and congratulations to everyone on a very successful first quarter!

We begin the second quarter continuing with our unit on the very first civilization; Ancient Mesopotamia and then on to Ancient Egypt. In Literature we will be reading Tuck Everlasting as well as short stories in class. In addition to our class reading assignments, please encourage students to read a book of their choosing on their own at home. Reading on level books for 20-30 minutes a night increases vocabulary and improves spelling and comprehension. In Math we will continue to study algebraic thinking, as well as learn about ratios and percents. And in our next science unit we will be exploring Earth’s natural resources.
