Welcome Back Junior High!

This first quarter in 8th grade social studies students will look at the native societies of North America, subsequent European exploration of the Americas, the development of English Colonies, and the beginnings of the American Revolutionary War.  

In 7th grade social studies students will study the growth and decline of the ancient Roman Empire, the ancient Islamic Empire of the Middle East, and West, Central, and Southern African civilizations.  In 8th grade literature we have revisited important literature concepts such as forms of literature and the elements of plot structure.  We are reviewing, rereading, writing on, and discussing the first summer novel The Pearl, a moral fable by John Steinbeck.
