About Us

Established in 1955, Our Lady of Mercy School is a Catholic, coeducational parish elementary school. We are a community of faith that provides for the growth of the whole child, nourishing each child’s spiritual, intellectual, social, psychological, and physical growth.

OLM offers two sections of each grade from kindergarten through grade eight, for a total of over 400 students. Our highly qualified teachers set high expectations for academic excellence and incorporate the latest educational approaches into the curriculum.

In addition to traditional subjects, OLM offers art, music, physical education, and library skills as part of the regular curriculum. Students may choose chorus, band, drama, student council, yearbook, speech club, cheerleading and after-school league sports as electives.

Our Kindergarten program is full day and offers all the programs available to students in Grades 1 through 8. We have a full-time credentialed special education teacher on staff for students who need additional assistance or have special needs, and a full-time licensed counselor to assist students and families. Our Extended Care Program “The Clubhouse” is open from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Homework Club is available for students in grades 5 through 8.

In September, 2004, OLM received the "Best of the Best" of Private Schools award by San Francisco and Peninsula readers of Bay Area Parent Magazine.

Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School is accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA).  WCEA accredits Catholic elementary and secondary schools in nine western states (26 (arch) dioceses) and the US Territory of Guam.  WCEA co-accredits and is in partnership with three Regional agencies (WASC, NAAS, NCA) and two private agencies (CAIS and HAIS).   WCEA began in 1957 in San Francisco and has a long and successful history of assisting school improvement through the accreditation process.

Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School is also accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

This process currently takes place every six (6) years.  The current WCEA/WASC accreditation runs through June 2024.
