My name is Mrs. Maria Collins and I am the 2A teacher. This is my 3rd year at O.L.M. and I am very excited to begin another year! I look forward to meeting the students and their families on the first day. As you know the first day of school is busy and only a 2 hour day! This will be the day that your child will come to school with all supplies. Make sure you label everything with your child's name on it.
Second grade is very exciting ,as this is the year that the students make their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. You will be receiving more information about this soon. It is also an important stepping block academic year as this is the year where the students become independent learners and thinkers. Your child will begin simple book reports and will do various oral presentations throughout the year.
This year we will go on two field trips. They are being planned currently. I will give you more information about the field trips as the dates are confirmed. I will have this confirmed by Back to School Night.
Your child was required to read Frog and Toad are Friends and to do math review problems. We will be reviewing the book and doing activities the first week. I look forward to hearing how the students felt about the book. If you have read the book awhile ago you may want to re-read the book together, so that your child is familiar with the story.

- Wednesday - 8 - 2:30 pm ( lunch and snack needed for the rest of the week)
- Thursday - 8 - 3:00 pm
- Friday - 8 - 3:00 pm
