Student CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES
At Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School, we believe in providing students with opportunities to discover their interests, develop their talents, and grow as confident leaders. Our clubs encourage creativity, teamwork, responsibility, faith, and school spirit while allowing students to explore new skills and build meaningful connections with their peers.
The following are the clubs and activities we offer at OLM:

STUDENT COUNCIL

Members collaborate with school administration to plan and lead school activities, events, and initiatives that strengthen our school community. Students learn to listen to their peers, share ideas, and make meaningful contributions to school life.

CAMPUS MINISTRY CLUB
Campus Ministry Club helps students deepen their Catholic faith and grow as faith-filled leaders. Members assist in preparing and supporting schoolwide faith formation activities, prayer services, and other religious celebrations throughout the school year. Through prayer, reflection, and service, students learn to live out their faith and inspire others in the OLM community.
SPEECH CLUB
Speech Club helps students develop confidence and effective communication skills through public speaking. Students learn to organize their thoughts, express their ideas clearly, and speak confidently before an audience. Through regular practice, they learn to overcome nervousness and communicate with confidence in a variety of settings.
DRAMA CLUB
Drama Club gives students the opportunity to explore their creativity and develop their acting and performance skills. Students work together to prepare and present OLM’s annual Christmas and Spring plays, showcasing their talents on stage. Participants also build teamwork, stage presence, and confidence while bringing stories to life for our school community.

YEARBOOK CLUB
Yearbook Club members collaborate to create OLM’s award-winning yearbook. Students contribute to capturing memorable moments, organizing photographs, and designing pages that celebrate the people, events, and experiences that make each school year special. Members develop creativity, organization, and collaboration skills while preserving lasting memories of the OLM experience.

PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB
Photography Club allows students to develop their photography skills while documenting school life. Members help capture important events, activities, and special moments that reflect the spirit and traditions of the OLM community. Students learn to tell stories through images while developing an eye for detail, composition, and creativity.
NEWSPAPER CLUB
Newspaper Club gives students the opportunity to develop their writing, editing, and journalism skills. Members contribute articles to the school newspaper, published at least three times a year, and help organize and sponsor schoolwide contests and activities. Students learn to research topics, share information responsibly, and keep the school community informed and engaged.

SAFETY PATROL
Safety Patrol encourages students to develop leadership, responsibility, and service by helping promote a safe and orderly school environment. Student members assist with designated school safety routines and serve as positive role models for their peers. Through this important service, students learn the value of accountability, cooperation, and looking out for others.

ACADEMIC DECATHLON
Academic Decathlon challenges students to expand their knowledge, strengthen critical-thinking skills, and work collaboratively as a team. Students prepare for academic competitions that encourage intellectual curiosity, perseverance, and a love of learning. The experience helps students build confidence in their abilities while celebrating academic achievement and teamwork.
SCHOOL BAND
The OLM School Band provides students with opportunities to develop their musical abilities, learn and improve instrumental skills, and perform together as an ensemble. Through practice and collaboration, students build discipline, confidence, and an appreciation for music. Students also learn the importance of commitment and listening to one another to create music as a team.

ALTAR SERVERS
The Altar Servers program invites students to serve the parish community by assisting the priest during Mass and other liturgical celebrations. Through this ministry, students deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith, develop reverence for the liturgy, and grow in their commitment to service. Serving at the altar allows students to take an active role in parish life and strengthen their relationship with God.

CHILDREN'S CHOIR
The OLM Children’s Choir gives students the opportunity to share their musical talents through singing at school liturgical celebrations and representing OLM at outside performances. Through music, students deepen their faith, develop their vocal skills, and bring joy to the school and wider community.
